Today I did an experiment. I knew you could animate with keynote and sketch but I had never gotten around to trying much. I decided to try something simple that I could do fast using my wireframe tool kit.
8 minutes later I had created a fairly smooth transition animation between a video feed and a video detail page. Tools like keynote are helpful in the beginning when you're experimenting and don't want to spend too much time in more advanced tools.
The Keynote "move" animation feature can also incorporate easing. Using this along with the build order means you can chain animations together very easily and get some stuff that it's actually quite nice.
It's also a great way to add animation transition screens into InVision prototypes.
The next time you want to quickly animate something but don't want to spend too much time in Principal or Framer, try using keynote.
